Back to Square One (Friggin MoFo's)

Because if I wrote here everything that has transpired in the last week, anyone reading this would have to take a couple breaks and probably stop reading, I will wrap this all up very neatly.

We retracted the offer on the house. Five days of waiting and getting jerked around? Sorry, this girl only takes so much before she starts biting back. It's the Irish fire in me. Mess with me, I will mess right back with you, and even harder. It's the way I roll and it seems to work pretty well.

I don't want to name names (DR Horton Builders) but needless to say, the price offered on the house wasn't even the correct one. I can see why the builders-who-shall-remain-nameless are in the middle of a management change.

So, the Nash family is going to invest more time and money into househunting, hopefully next weekend. Oh, and yes, it will be with a new real estate agent also. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. NEXT!!!!!

Okay, I know this is a frustrating situation, but your Twitter posts on this are too funny! We had our own problems when we bought after returning from Korea. Everything went well, too well, until closing. Anyway, hang in there and hope this realtor is good to go for you two!

In this market they should be beating a path to your door to purchase a home - I would think.

Good luck.

i will never buy another DR HORTON home again. i like having my home, but am not happy with the company. the customer service is non-existant after close of escrow. i found out after the fact that they charge more than their competitors for upgrades and even items that are standard w/other builders DR charges you for. they will lower their prices if the market idicates, however they wont notify you. if you keep on top of them as i did, they will give you the going price. i had ours lowered a few times for a total of $16,000 less than original. still that doesn't make up for the fact that the dirt under my front walk is eroding away due to them not compacting it enough when refilling a hole dug in that spot for plumbing during building. and they have never contacted me regarding the two warranty requests submitted regarding such. they never conducted the stucco inspection they promised after one year to patch any cracks from settling. and the c.s. number i was given is disconnected. now my one year warranty is expired and i am more than likely s.o.l.

you were smart to walk away from DR HORTON. good luck on your search for a new home :)
